What is the diffrence between Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and Lap banding?!

Question:

What is the diffrence between Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and Lap banding?

Which is the best?

Answers:

The Roux en Y gastric bypass surgery changes the size of you stomach and changes the place where you stomach empties into the small intestine. Thus decreasing the time the body has to absorb the few calories your small stomach can hold. You lose weight because, the size of your stomach has been reduced and the amount of time the food stays in the small intestine is reduced. The small intestines is where the bulk of absorption of calories occurs.

Lap banding is a band that is placed around the stomach and can be adjusted to reduce the size of your stomach so you cannot it as much. No other alteration in your body occurs. You lose weight because you can't as much. This procedure is reversible. The gastric bypass is not.

Gastric bypass also has a lot of short and long term side effects that need to be address fully before considering this measure.
