When you loose weight do you also loose muscle?!


Question: When you loose weight do you also loose muscle!?
I've always been solid and muscly!.!.!. And ive also been loosing weight but my calves are HUGE!! and i want them smaller!!! As i loose fat!.!.!. will the size of my calves get smaller!?!? Thank You :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

You might have some fat overtop of your calves thatll go down!.

However, your body first burns carbs, (or glycogen, and then ketones if no carbs are available such as if youre not eating or starving)!.!.!.then after all its carb energy is used up it burns fat!.!.!. The absolute last thing that your body wants to burn is its protein reserves in the muscles!.!. most of your body is made up of protein as well as water!.!.!. so its in your body's best interest not to burn this away unless its absolutely necessary!.

The point of exercising to lose weight is that you are forcing your body to need extra calories to burn that its not getting from the carbs youre eating!. Thats the concept behind low-carb diets (which can be very harmful in the long run) You should restrict carbs, but not cut them out completely!.

but!.!.!. they should get a bit smaller once you lose some weight!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
