Is chewing gum addictive ?!

Question: Is chewing gum addictive !?
Answers:
I would say yes!. From all the research on yahoo and google I found that alot of people are addicted!. However, they are not going to go into withdrawal or any other form of drug addictive behaviors!. They are merely addicted to the taste and "can't get enough"!. I believe that unless the gum has other products included such as caffeine or nicotine that the gum is not really harmful!. Check it out on wikipedia and google!. :) Good question!

From Wikipedia:
There are various health benefits have been demonstrated for chewing gum, but concern has arisen about the possible carcinogenicity of the vinyl acetate (acetic acid ethenyl ester) used by some manufacturers in their gum bases!. The Canadian government has classified the ingredient as a "potentially high hazard substance!."[1] Currently the ingredient can be hidden in the catch-all term "gum base"!.

Recently the U!.S!. armed forces have been providing troops with caffeinated gum to keep soldiers alert for extended periods of time without experiencing fatigue or drowsiness!. Each stick of gum has approximately 100 mg of caffeine in it, about the same amount in an average cup of coffee!.[2] Although chewing gum is provided in the U!.S!. military MRE's, it is often strongly discouraged for a troop to be seen chewing gum while standing in formation!.

Here's an article from Science Direct!.com about replacing nicotine with chewing gum!.!.!.
