Question: I'm rec!. from anorexia and WANT to gain!. what should i eat!?
5'3" 22yr old female 102lbs
I really do want to gain weight!. I am tired of my legs not touching and my arms look ridiculous and my face is bony and wrinkles when i smile!.

I've started eat normally again so now i have kinda little fat pooch on my tummy!. Which i heard will spread out after a while of recovery!.And on top of everything else i haven't had my period in a year!.

Here's the deal!. My mom and sister have been worried and stressed and just want me better!. So all they want me to eat is milkshakes, hamburgers, fried chicken, french fries, ice cream, candy, the large portions at restaurants!. They never want me to eat grilled chicken or tuna or fruit for snacks or veggies you know healthier stuff!.

I feel I can't tell them I want to gain weight in a healthy way or they'll think I'm going back to anorexia!.
So I have been eating junk food to make them happy and i have noticed a change i just don't want to over do it with junk!.

This may sound obsessive but i get early everyday and do some cardio exercises and some crunches and then crunches at night before dinner!. Is that okay!? compared to my other workout rutein this is like doing nothing so i;ve cut back a LOT!.

I just want some help!.I mean is it okay to gain weight on junk food and then after i gain start eating better!?

Recovering anorexic patients need to gain weight in very small amounts, no more than a pound a week!. Gaining too much weight, too quickly will result in continued anorexic behavior!. Your family should not be shoving milkshakes down your throat!. Eat healthy food you feel comfortable eating!. Food that you will not want to go and work off with cardio immediately after eating it!. Also, remember that there is such a thing as essential fats that can be found in such foods as salmon, peanut butter, avocados, olive oil, etc!. If you are not having your menstrual period, you most likely do not have enought fat on your body!. This is extremely unhealthy!. Thin may look great now, but give it 20 years when osteoporosis has taken over and your bones are so brittle you have to use a walker!. This is why many ballet companies give mandatory bone density checks - in order to insure the health of their dancers!. You really need to start taking a calcium supplement in order to build your bones back up!. You build bone mass until you are in you late 20s!. I would recommend talking to your doctor or a nutritionist to work out a diet plan that would best suit your situation!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't think it would be very healthy to go all out on junk food!.!.!. I think you should take whatever percentage of food you must eat to maintain a healthy wellness and increase that!. So basically increase whatever your portion size is!.!.!.

Hope this helpedWww@Answer-Health@Com
