Question: Is this a good diet, for a 17 year old girl
I'm 5'5
118lbs

need to tone up/ lose fat

Ive been running a couple of times a week, and sit ups etc
but that's all I have time for, cos I'm in yr 12 and I work!.

Bfast: cereal and skim milk
Lunch: apple, banana, pear
Dinner: steamed chicken, rice and vegetables

You need more protein if you want to tone up sweetie!.!.!. your not anorexic as some people say!.!.!. you may be right about needing to tone up!.!.!.only you can decide that just try to be healthy at the same time!.!.!.

your dinner is perfect

lunch is not!.!.!.apple banana and pear have lots of sugar and starch! Pick one of those and eat a grilled chicken salad with it!. or a 6 inch turkey sandwich from subway or a bowl of light soup!.

breakfast is good but you might want to switch to something with a bit of protein in it like oatmeal! Its the perfect breakfast!.


Remember that fruit is great but has lots of sugar! so get your 2-4 servings throughout the day but no more!.

Green vegetables need to be in most of your meals! they are the healthiest thing you can eat!.

snack on carrots or celery throughout the day!.!.!.these help you burn more calories

one more thing to remember that is very important!.!.!.If you don't get your protien and do strength training you will lose lean mass instead of fat! this will not help you tone up! so eat good lean meats like turkey, and chicken!.!.!.also eat nuts, beans, and other things that have protein!

For your height I think you are in great weight!. You just need to work out as if you were in the military!. Do push ups, sit ups, and run 2 miles!. Do all this in different times but in same day!. You can also lift weights!. That will help you get toned up!. I think your diet is ok!. You just need to add something else in your lunch!. For example add a some pasta, fish, or even meat!. 4oz to be exact!. You are not trying to lose weight but to gain muscle!. Good Luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no!. ' exercise is good and not worthless, but diet is terrible!. Steamed chicken might get boring and not provide a variety of nutrients!. eating only cereal and skim milk for breakfast is not healthy unless you are equipped to handle it (unknown, but I doubt it)!. eating a weak breakfast and lunch is only ok if you live in a context like modern day starving desert and are adapted to eating small meals!. fruit and cereal is not good, but I don't know your circumstances very well at all!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's a great idea!. Just don't go over board with it!. I don't care what anybody tells you, your body cannot live without some fat and carbs to feed off of especially when you work out to stay in shape!. You want to have to that fat to burn, you don't want your body to start feeding off your muscles, which will happen if you decide to cut the fat out of you diet completely!.

It sounds like a good diet their are so many ways to lose the weight with a little exercise planned and it great my method is the skinny b**** method and i found the book to it at a local book store but it all depends on what you plan on eating because I'm vegan! I also exercise daily but it tells me what to keep away from and what would be you best friend in a food source!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think you should improve your lunch to include more protein!. You could have a salad with vegetables and maybe some grilled fish!. Very yummy! Fruits also have a lot of sugar in them, bananas especially!.

Also, if you want to tone up, you should use light weights like 5 lbs!. so you don't bulk up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds okay!. But your not really getting enough of the food groups!.!.!.!.!.!.you should have 3 meals a day!.!.and snack in between them on fruit and veg!.
Im 17 also 5 foot 9 and 119lbs!.!.and ive lost a stone altogether in 4 weeks now by being on this diet:

Breakfast: Cereal, milk
Snack: Cereal bar!.fruit
Lunch: Something on toast/Fruit
Snack: Fruit
Dinner: ANYTHING! lol :D

that is a excellent diet and i encourage you to keep it up!. But for break fast i would eat cottage cheese+vitamins+fish oil and maybe some yogurt!. O and to tone up i recommend using weights!. good luck:]Www@Answer-Health@Com
