Is this healthy??!

Question:

Is this healthy??

I don't eat a lot and when I do, it usually isn't much. I'm trying to lose weight but my family always buys junk food and never anything healthy, and they always make me feel guilty because they always say "stop thinking about only yourself, your stupid health food is expensive." They won't allow me to diet, whenever I say I'm going to start exercising and dieting, they shove junk food in my face and try to force me to eat it, so I usually don't eat, maybe around 1-2 meals a day in the middle of the night when everyone's sleeping. And I usually feel guilty and ashamed of this. Is this healthy, and how can I get my family to let me diet? And also how can I change my eating habits? Whenever I look at food I feel disgusting.

Also is caffeine healthy? I've researched and there are lots of opinionated topics out there, I used to have a diet consisting of mainly nothing but caffeine and I lost 15 lbs, and when I quit drinking it for 2 weeks I gained it all back. What should I do?

Answers:

Teach your parents the importance of being healthy. Tell them of all the saturated fat in junk food and that always eating this will make you very unhealthy. If they refuse to listen, go out and buy some good foods yourself.

Also, eating only one or two meals a day is not good for you. You need to have at least 1200 calories in your system on a daily basis to keep your body from thinking your starving it and storing excess fat. I'm not sure how old you are, but if you are still a teenager, then you need 1800 calories to support in your growth.

Cut down on your intake of sodium, cholesterol, and saturated fats. Read the nutritional facts on food labels and you can get the idea of which foods are good for you, and which ones are bad.

Exercise, too. It sounds like your in a bad situation with your family, at least in terms of you trying to diet. Get away for about 45 minutes per day and go out running/jogging. Heck, you could just run to the supermarket, buy your health foods, and carry them on the way back. Build up the leg muscles in the process.

Caffeine is a stimulant drug that speeds up your central nervous system. I don't see anything wrong with having half of a can of soda before you go running to give you a little burst of energy, but just don't overdo it.

I don't know, it's up to you, but if you don't do something about this, you won't ever be living healthy.

Good luck.
