Question: For the last 8 years i have been joining slimming classes then not doing the diet
i lost 7 stone 8 years ago then put it all back on again, i would really like to lose the weight again and i feel the slimming class doesn't help me and would like to go it alone and break the addiction of the slimming any good advise for me, genuine answers pleaseWww@Answer-Health@Com

I have been a serial yo-yo dieter, but a few years back I lost 9 or 10 stone and I have kept it off ever since!. Slimming Clubs don't work for people that love their food (like me) because as soon as you start counting (points, calories, sins, whatever) you immediately start thinking about what you can't have!.

Try focussing on eating to stay healthy, eating a healthy diet!. When you are hungry, eat!. If you have a real burning desire for say, a piece of cake, ask yourself if you REALLY want it, and if you do, then eat it and enjoy it and don't feel guilty!. Focussing on health rather than weight means that you might end up losing weight anyway!. You are also more likely to do it gradually and change your habits for life, which is what you need to do!. Not follow a diet until you've lost the weight and then go back to old habits!.

Try and do a bit of exercise too, and make that a health focussed habit!.

I know this doesn't come over as very genuine, but I am just a normal person that has lost a lot of weight withour silly fads and foods, and have managed to keep it off too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you are really serious, try the Atkin's diet!. You can get all the info you need on the "dot net"!.!. Within six weeks, you will see a huge difference(if you follow it to the letter)!. It's a great way to lose weight and keep it off for years!. Once you have conquered the carbs thing, you will be able to maintain a good weight without having to worry about what you eat!. It's not just a physical thing for you - it's also a mental and emotional challenge!.

Healthy mind - healthy body!!! Break the addiction first - have you thought of talking to a counsellor!. It would be really beneficial for you to have someone like that on your side and giving you moral support!.
