Answers:
In very simple terms you are skinny because you don't eat enough!. This is going to be your biggest obstacle in moving forward!. It doesn't matter how much you are eating now, you will need to eat more!.

You should be targeting 160-170 lb in order not to be seen as skinny!. That your family is also skinny is as much likely down to being taught poor eating habits than anything to do with metabolism - and regardless of cause the cure is the same!.

Exercise can be counter productive unless you eat properly!. If you solve the nutrition side then you need the right sort of exercise - heavy weights, to bulk up!. The lifting will only trigger the growth, it will not happen unless you have the right nutrition and the right amount of rest!.

This will be a difficult thing, you've seen how hard it is for some people to lose weight - you have the same problem in reverse!. It will require all of your motivation to persevere!.

Take advice only from those who have gone from skinny to bulky, only they really understand what you are up against and what you need to do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have 2 grown boys who are both tall and lean and the thing that helps them to keep some weight on is to exercise and eat nutritious foods!. The thing about exercise is that it will increase your appetite!. You probably should see a Dr!. to make sure you are not having a problem with your thyroid or problems absorbing iron, something like that, these are just examples!. You could put yourself on a 2500 calorie diet that is a nutritious diet!. But don't forget the EXERCISE!. that is going to be a major key!. My son's both lift weights and play sports!. The oldest is 33, 5'11" and weighs about 145 and the younger is 20, 6'0" and about 150 lbs!. The both have had to use exercise to gain muscle which gains weight and the exercise increased their appetite!. My daughter is 23, 5'6" and 114 lbs!. She also exercises and that helps with her appetite!. But she struggles to keep her weight up!. She has a good appetite, but she is very cautious about eating good food!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Good question!.!.!.2 months ago, I was in the same predicament!.
I was 22 male 5'10 134!.
I'm still 22 and 5'10, but in 6 weeks I have gained 16 pounds!.

First thing I will say, is it isn't just enough to eat more!. If you gained, say, 30 pounds and it is all fat, then you haven't made it anywhere!.

The key is gaining weight and making it all (or at least mostly) muscle!. I would put it at about half and half the importance of eating properly and the importance of exercising properly!. Neither does well by itself, but the both of them can work wonders together!.

So far as eating goes, I'm not able to intake all the calories and necessary protien every day, so I use protien shakes for the rest!. There are actually some times of day that it is actually better to take a shake than food!. For example, during the night!. At night, your body will try to make it through the fast by eating away at your muscle!. Take a shake w/ casein in it and you're all set!. I myself take CytoSport's Muscle Milk Collegiate, CytoGainer and FastTwitch at different times of the day to aid in muscle growth!.

My growth is starting to slow down now, which is natural, but my goal is 166lb, which would probably make a decent goal for you also!.

I had to make this short, but if you want more info!.!.!.feel free to email

Eat more meals- but make sure they're nutritious- you can have an extra meal or two throughout the day!. You're blessed with a fast metabolism!. If you're a smoker- quit!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Add an extra meal(smaller) in your day!. Eat more carb and meat (white meat or red meat in your case)!. Exercise will help arousing those growth hormones as well so pick up a sport or just try to be more active!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
