OK, here it goes...I have NEVER been on a diet or even considered one, so I kind!

Question:

OK, here it goes...I have NEVER been on a diet or even considered one, so I kindly need some help?

I am a 21 year-old female. I feel like I got fat overnight, even though I know that I didn't. I woke up this morning and realized.. 'Oh my god! I am really really fat!' It's the strangest thing.

Anyway, I have never been on a diet because I really never realized that I needed to be on one. This is really crazy because I am 5'3'' and I weigh about 305lbs. I have recently gotten married (within the last two years) and I have gone from weighing about 140-160lbs (not sure exactly) to this! I am so disgusted with myself. I know that I seriously need to lose about 150lbs. to be at a safe, average wieght, right?

Anyway, my dilemma is this. I have PCOS (PolyCystic ovarian syndrome) which causes me to have some form of insulin resistance. So I need to be on a low-carb diet of some sort to lose this weight. It is really hard for someone with PCOS to lose weight says my doctor. So I need some exercising tips as I cannot really do all that much in my current state. Also....

I need some recipes that I can cook for a picky eater. I am really really not to keen on eating vegetables.

I do NOT eat Onions in any way shape or form. I will eat lettuce, but only in a salad. I don't eat tomatoes unless processed in ketchup or spaghetti sauce. I love fruits but I know that I cannot eat them all the time. They have a lot of sugar that my body is unable to process. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.!

I have PCOS. No wonder "diets" didn't work for me. I too am insulin resistant. If it hasn't been explained to you. The easiest way to explain it, anytime you have any form of sugar or carb your insulin levels spike (mine did three times the norm). The receptors that tell your body "Hey Carbs, energy" DONT WORK, instead our body says "Hey Carbs, Store as fat"

I started the metformin, but it really made me sick. My doc prescribed my a blood sugar level monitor. I stayed under 100 if I got to low I would sip on apple juice or have a section of an orange. I stopped the metformin all together and just stuck to my guns. LOW CARB 3 days and every fourth day SMART CARB ( whole grains and fruits for example). I started with Atkins shakes and pria low carb power bars, omelets, fresh carrots, brocolli and cauliflower, Chicken (I bought in bulk and made it ahead and put in the freezer), fish, occasionally red meat and deli meats and cheeses. For the sweet tooth Occasional diabetic candy (read the labels for carbs minus sugar alcohol) and my favorite, sugar free jello with cool whip. For the salt snack craving, almonds and flaxseed soy chips found at Trader Joe's. I lost 50 pounds in 6 months. The transformation was amazing. I ended up getting a job at the gym ;-) You end up changing your body chemistry you wont even crave the carbs anymore. I thought I would die without white rice or cereal. The hardest part is will power. Once you start and stick to it, you will become inventive with your meals.
For exercise, start out with cardiovascular getting your heart rate up for at least twenty minutes. Simply a brisk walk will do that for you. Work your way to a jog, then running. If you have a gym nearby look into spin classes. Just make sure your conditioned to aerobic activity first. Just get moving and work your way up AT YOUR PACE.

If I can do it. ANYONE can do it. Good Luck.
