Question: Do you really need to consume 1gram protein per lb!. bodyweight to maintain a lean physique!?
I know some people who hardly eat that and definately have great bodies!.!.!.Do you really need to eat 1 to 1!.5 grams per lb!. bodyweight!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

No!. To maintain muscle mass while working out you would want to look at the ~1g per pound of body weight!. The key here is maintaining muscle mass!. There is such a wide definition of "great bodies" so it would really depend on what your definition is!. If you are talking about a lean physique with regards to a swimmer or a runner, then this 1g would drop down to probably about 0!.5g-0!.8g per pound of body weight!.

Just as a reference, the average chicken breast has ~35g of protein!.

if you want to put on muscle then you should eat 1 gram of protein each day for Kilogram of body weight so therefore about 0!.45 grams of protein per lb!. But you just wanna maintain a lean body, my guess u dont want to get hugh, This should be achievable with just a standard diet!. I!.e drink your milk, aim to have fish twice a week, and so on!. Protein is in lots of food! It you eat properly you will get MORE than enough!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
