Bench press i'm confused?!
Question: Bench press i'm confused!?
how do people come up with the amount they bench press!. like 5 reps of 170 and stuff like that!. can somebody please explain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A repitition is a single lift of an exercise!. So if I do 5 reps that means I can lift the weight down and up again 5 times in a row before I rest!. The '170' either refers to kilograms or pounds of weight that's lifted!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Depends on your goals!.
IF you want to get stronger, then you do a heavy weight with low reps!. There are calculations you can do once you find your One Rep Max ot find out what your 3 rep max is and so on, then a program is chosen!. For example lets say you can do at your best 1 rep at 200 pounds, then if your trying to build streng you would probabily get a program that tells you to do 5 sets of 5 reps at 175 pounds!.
If you want to get your reps up then you would so a lower weight (say 150 pounds) mand try and do 5 sets of 8-12 reps!.

we dont just guess what we can do and just do it!.
you start out light to see where you at!. then you increase the weight until you can barely do your desire reps and sets!. then thats the amount of weight you do when you bench!. the heavier the weight, the more bulkier you get!. i do 5 sets of 8 reps with 175!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i don't get what you mean!? when someone says 5 reps of 170 is quite clear what they're saying!.
they bench 170 pounds 5 times in a row!. if they did it 6 times then they would probably be able to bench less!.
most people when they tell you what hey bench its either a
1 rep bench
or a 6-8 rep bench

like you can do 5 reps of 170!. so you add more weight until you can do 2 reps!. thats how much you benchpress!.

ppl experiment with weights to find that rep!.!.!.!.later on as they weight train more they will learn wat weights are needed to get that same "feeling"

by bench pressing it if you can do 75 but not 76 you can bench 75 its the highest amountWww@Answer-Health@Com
um i dont understand what you are asking!. 5 reps of 170 means that he bench pressed 170 pounds 5 times!. o!.O
