I just ate 480 calories worth of cookies. Help?!

Question:

I just ate 480 calories worth of cookies. Help?

I feel really bad. I'm on a new diet, and I think I've been low on calories. I consumed like 980 yesterday. So, I figured one cookie wouldn't hurt. I had made them for my sister. Then I had another, another, and another. Soon, I had four cookies- and I don't really know the calories, but they're about 2 inches in diameter and they are betty crocker chocolate chip cookies. And I read that something the same is like 217 or something each, so yeah. I feel bad, and I haven't done any exercise today.

Any suggestions to how to get rid of those extra 480 cals fast?

So you guys are saying that it's okay that I made this mistake today?

Answers:

980 calories is not enough for the day, you need around 1200 calories every day AT LEAST, or else you will store fat and lose muscle mass and water weight. then if you eat normally again (1200 and over), you will gain the weight that you lost plus more, and it will be fat and water, no muscle, and this is because your metabolism slowed down because it thought it was starving.
if that's all you had for today, don't worry about it. i would suggest that you eat more. you only gain weight if you more than you burn (2000, usually).
