Sit ups would gradually work on your abs, but i think push ups are mainly for upper arms!. I have heard you burn calories/fat faster when you suck in your stomach when you are doing push ups, maybe try that!. Also look for some work out tapes and follow those!. Like yoga, tai-bo every one of those are nice work outs, even cardio kick boxing, those will get you in shape all around your body!. I guess if you want abs you should start out with sit ups but then gradually work up into other exercises!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

As far as I know, if you want the abs to show, you have to do some sort of cardiovascular exercise along with the sit ups and push ups!. If you don't you'll have defined abs, but they will be covered by flab (assuming you have flab on your stomach, if not, then yeah!.)Www@Answer-Health@Com

push ups work your shoulder area more than your stomach, unless you are nearly upside down!. (I am really muscular, and I showed off one night with a bunch of my friends by doing pushups standing on my hands, i couldnt cough the whole next day my belly was so sore) lol that was my stupid lesson in pushups!. The might, but you need to add cardio (like running, walking, swimming, etc) to burn the fat off the muscles that you've earned from doing sit ups and pushups!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Push ups are for chest,shoulder and triceps only if done with variation!.
