Is jogging on a treadmill good for herniated disc?!


Question: Is jogging on a treadmill good for herniated disc!?
ive been sufferring from two herniated disc (L4 and L5) for a couple of years and i was wondering if jogging on a treamill will help me beacuse i gained a tremendous amount of weight since then!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Jogging can actually be hard on the joints and spine due to the impact!. Instead just do a brisk, fast walk on the tread!. Check with your doctor as well as there are exercises that will help strengthen your back but you want to make sure they are the right ones so you don't injure yourselfWww@Answer-Health@Com

Depending on the severity of it, you may want to check with a Chiropractor, I had 3 slipped discs in my neck, and one in my lower back!. I consulted with a physiatris and a chiropractor!. They did a procedure called "MUA" Manipulation Under Anesthesia!. It really benefitted me a greal deal!. I was able to run on a treadmill, but there was pain, I would advise you to rest up, and then take it slowly!.

It would probably be a good idea to do low impact cardio!. I think an elliptical machine would be a safer idea for you!. Running could be too jarring on your back!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Jogging on a treadmill jars the spine each time your foot hits the pad!.
I would recommend swimming or biking!. These have less impact on your back!.
