Question: How did u get motivated to lose weight/ change ur lifestyle!?
i had a friend who did a Biggest Loser challenge within his family and they all put $75 in and whoever lost the most body fat at the end won all the money (his sister won)

im thinking of starting a swear jar type of thing for myself!.!.!.i would assign different monetary values to different things like if i skip the gym one day then i put $3 in!. if i cave in and eat chinese food (crab rangoons call to me) then i put $7 in!. etc etc!. what do u think about doing that!?

motivation in itself fuels weight loss!.!.!. here's what ive done so far!.!.!. a year and a half ago i passed a mirror and just looked at myself!.!.!. i was fat!.!.!. i weighed 352 pounds!.!.!.!. im an ex football player and my weight and lifestyle caught up with me!.!.!. i love to eat alot!.!.!. i started doing cardio about 30 minutes a day!.!.!.!. soon i started seeing results!.!.!.!. the ladies started noticing so i wanted to keep it going!.!.!. soon after, i got comfortable and slacking on my workouts!.!.!. i started eating fried foods and empty calories!.!.!. so i did this!.!.!. i worked out and ate healthy all week!.!.!.!. salads lean cold cuts!.!.!. fruits veggies!.!.!.etc!.!.!.!. and on saturday or any one day out of the week, i reward myself with some food i love!!! like a steak dinner or sumthing!.!.!.!. it allows you to still have foods you like but doesnt deprivee you all the way!.!.!. i wish you much luck in your success to a healthy lifestyle!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you are unhappy the way you, no reason why you should be, then that may be motivation enough!. For those not quite so lucky you need your own solution, your idea sounds good!. You could reward yourself with a holiday at the end and all the money in the jar could be taken away from the budget!. Or you could put money in when you do well, and take it out and put it in a charity box when you fail!.

Read the classic "Psycho-Cybernetics"!. The main points are to repeat things to yourself (affirmations) and to write down plans!. It sounds really lame, but the mind is simpler than you might think!.

Be sure to make positive statements like "I will be energetic" rather than negatives like "I will not be lazy"!. The subconscious doesn't handle the negatives!. Mix up the pronouns and the tenses: "I will be energetic" "You will be energetic" "I am energetic" etc!. Use all these forms!. Use simple words : "strong" is better than "energetic"!.

Just think hard about what you'd like to lose and how you're gonna look and feel at the end of it!. It's not an easy thing to do, but once you start to see some results, you get the most amazing feeling and that makes you wanna go harder!. But you have to be patient!. Make yourself do things, make yourself not eat those chocolate bars or whatever your weakness is!. You'll get there!. You just need to push yourself and when you see results, you're on your way! I think the best thing to do is to get into a routine!. Make a schedule or plan for yourself!. Don't complicate it too much and add fun stuff to it too like have a small slice of cheesecake, watch a movie, etc!.

Use an online calendar if it's better!.!.!. I use google's calendar!.!.!. it links straight from gmail!.

Put some inspirational sayings on your fridge and a picture that motivates you!. Put a notepad on your fridge and write down everything you take out to eat!.

I have a gazelle at home and used to reset it every day before workout!. Now I'm planning to make a weekly goal!. Sunday to Sunday!.!.!. I want it to accumulate to at least 3500 calories each week!.

I know the money jar won't work for me because I'd have to discipline myself and it just doesn't work!. What I did instead is figure out how much I eat out every month and I have that exact amount taken out of my account automatically and put into a savings account!.

Yes MONEY can motivate people in a LOT of ways!

I got motivated to lose a few pounds when my skinny jeans!.!.!.!. which were a pair of Rock & Republic name brand were just too tight in the butt! These are probably $200 - $300 jeans, when bought new!. I bought them at salvation army for $5!.00!. But I knew what they were worth, they were super sexy and stylish, and I was mad at myself that I could not fit in them anymore!.

So, I started working out, doing mostly weights, very little cardio, and I went on a 90% liquid diet!. I did not weigh myself before I was started, because I know I would have made myself mad to know that number!. But I am assuming I lost somewhere between 5 - 8 lbs in a month without killing myself or working out too hard!. It was a combination of being consistent with working out everyday, and the liquid diet!.
