14 year old male body using dumbells... healthy or not?!


Question: 14 year old male body using dumbells!.!.!. healthy or not!?
Is it ok for me to use dumbells at my age(14) !?!.!.!.!. And will it affect my growth!? I am playing basketball and I want to improve my shooting!.!.
What will I do!?

Yes, it is okay!. No, it can't stop you growing; and it won't stop normal growth!.

For arm strength, bicep curls and shoulder exercises (so military and bench press) will do you good!. Wrist curls with lighter weights can help stability in wrist and forearm!.

For more powerful jumps, you can also try squat-lifts (with bar), deadlifts, and straddle lifts (rep up to 80 per cent of your max lift if you can!. It's tough though)!.
