Answers:

I think how flabby you get depends on several things:

1) how old you are when you lose the weight. The younger you are the more resilient the skin.

2) how good your nutrition is when you are losing the weight. The better nourished your skin, I think the less likely you are to have flabby skin. I'm not sure why, but I think skim milk is supposed to go a long way in reducing flab.

3) how fast you lose the weight. If you lose weight really fast, like with a gastric bypass, you end up with lots and lots and lots of excess skin, because you are losing weight so fast your skin cannot readjust itself fast enough to keep up with the weightloss. If you lose weight slowly, a couple pounds of week, then their won't be as much flab.

4) how much you exercise. I'm not sure, but I think that when you exercise with weights on a regular basis, the muscle and skin stay together better. Maybe it's just that the muscles get bigger and fill in some of the space vacated by the fat. I don't know. But if you lose weight slowly, lift weights and maintain good nutrition while you are doing it, I think you can minimize the amount of flab you get, especially if you are still relatively young.
