If you toast your bread does it change how many calories are in it?!

Question: If you toast your bread does it change how many calories are in it!?
Answers:
Yes, because some of the calories which were to be had in the bread are no longer attainable!. Toasting burns up some of the energy in the sugars of the bread, thus decreasing the amount of calories in the bread!. It isn't much, but you didn't ask if there was a substantial change, just if there were a change!.

I was a former baker and I took classes in this stuff!. More occurs when a slice of bread is toasted than just the loss of water!. The reason it browns is because the sugars in the bread are being caramelized!.

If you need some type of example, then think of burning a piece of wood!. The burnt part doesn't have the energy available in it that it had before it was burnt!. Neither does the toasted part of the bread!. Calories have to do with converting food into energy!. If part of that food has already been converted then it is has fewer calories!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No!

It is a myth that a slice of toast has fewer calories than a slice of bread!.

The calories that go into the toaster are the same calories that pop back up again! The only difference between the bread that goes in and the toast that comes out, apart from being warm and crispy, is the weight!.

When the bread is being cooked, water is lost through evaporation!. This means that the slice of toast is lighter than the slice of bread it was made from but it has the same calories and nutrients!. An average slice of wholemeal bread weighs 36g and has around 80 calories!. This slice of bread toasted weighs 31g but still has around 80 calories!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
