Answers:

My wife and I went on the Curves diet 3 mo ago and it has helped me drop 35lbs and my wife 42lbs over that time. It is kind of a heart friendly modified atkins diet you can live with.
1st week- limit yourself to 20g of carbs a day. This is very hard and you will get fatigued until the fat metabolism kicks in. You can eat meats, cheeses ,eggs ,and there is carb free puddings and jello.
Next step is to bump your carb intake to 60g ad day. After the first week that will seem like a lot of carbs and you will feel like you are pigging out but will still lose weight only slower than the 20+ that is average for the 1st week. Now it is 2-3 a wk but with exercise it will be more.
If at any point you stop losing weight, that is called metabolic stalling. Now you have to cycle for a few days. Eat what you want until you gain 2-3 pounds and take them off by going down to 20g of carbs for 1-2 days. Do this 2-3x to give your metabolism a boost then go back to the 60g carbs a day. Once you hit your target weight ,eat normal .If you gain more than 2-3 lbs go back on the diet.
This diet will increase you calorie burning by up to 500 calories a day more than when you started. Remember to drink a lot of water with this to flush out the ketones from the ketoacidosis you put yourself in through the diet.
This diet taught my family how to eat better and now we no longer need to be on a diet 30 days a month. Remember to add Carbs in 10g increments over the 60g if you add cardio or weight training to your regiment.
There are a lot of frozen meals that you can have on this South Beach, michelina's... As for fast food you can order the grilled chicken breast patty only and sometimes they give you a lesser charge without the bread. I know McDonalds does.
