I would guess she likes you!. Especially if shes told her family about you!. Anyways, the only way to work this out is to talk to her!. If you want to be with this girl, you're gonna have to go after her, since she's shy!. Maybe she was tired of waiting and finally made a move by asking your friend about you!. This is most def a cry for you to act!. If, as you say, she's liked for two years, she prob doesn't want to be the one to ask you!. Think of a cute, creative way to ask her that won't embarass her because she's shy!. The reason she asked your friend is she was reassurance!.
