It's perfectly simple!. Burn more calories than you take in and you'll lose weight!.

1!. exercise - to burn calories
2!. eat low fat, low sugar, high fibre food like fruit, vegetables and muesli (not exactly tasty, I know)!. You don't digest fibre, so fibre is good cos it fills you up and stops you feeling hungry yet it is 0 calories, and it's healthy!.

don't
1!. eat cream cakes, biscuits, pizza, burgers, chips, fried chicken or crisps!.

There was a study done on a group of obese people!. They had a calorie intake of a very large number!. After some time, the number was dropped to about 200 - basically starvation!. The obese people did not lose a significant amount of weight!.

The problem with diets is that the body is conditioned to slow down your metabolism when it senses a decrease in calories!. Another mechanism it uses when starving itself is to destroy muscles before fat!.

In order to actually lose weight without killing your muscle mass, you must exercise along with dieting!. This will ensure that you remain healthy and that your metabolism stays high!.
