Question:

Should I Keep Trying To Gain?

I'm a 28 year old wife and mother of one son. I'm about 5`6 and 115 pounds, with long legs. I've tried on many many many occasion to try and gain weight. I even went to a doctor at one point and the gave me medican for weight gain that cost me $400.00 everytime I filled the presricption. I however did gain weight from that but, it was so costy that I had to stop taking it and eventaully went back down to my 115 frame. I've tried products from GNC and that stuff never worked is it something else that I can try that will allow me to put on at least 15 - 20 pounds? Oh, yeah and for get about telling me to eat more becasue I'm one of those ladies that can eat what I want and when I want and never ever gain a pound. When I discuss this with my friends they tell me that people would did for my weught but, I beg to differ.

Hi.

When I was 31, and my husband and I were planning on having our first baby, it was decided that I needed to gain at least 5 pounds before getting pregnant. I spent three months gaining those 5 pounds.

If your health is otherwise fine (thyroid is normal, periods are normal, have enough energy, heart rate and pulse is normal) then accept that your weight is just 115. This is assuming that you can maintain that weight without all the expensive supplements.

On the other hand, if your health is suffering, look for something underlying, rather than the weight. Get a blood test and check thyroid levels, at the very least.

People are nuts when it comes to low weight problems. When I had a parasite, and was down to 130, at 5 foot 11 inches, people kept telling me I looked "great! like a model!"

Good luck.
