Chewing or eating will only increase the amount of digestive acids in your stomach - this will mean that after your gum or snack, you'll be even more hungry than before!

Water is a good one - everyone needs to drink water and not many people drink enough!.!.!. Though too much can stretch your stomach and make the pangs worse over time!.!.!.

Something more is needed than teas - caffeine may be an appetite supressant, but it will dehydrate you and you can become dependant - it'll stimulate your hunger!.!.!. - If you are to drink tea, Green, as mentioned or Chamomile, et al, are best!.

With a little honey or lemon, depending on how you like it!.

No need to not enjoy rewarding yourself for being on a diet!

I find Hot Cocoa made from grated 70pc dark chocolate and (skimmed, though I use Jersey, cos I'm a glutton!.!.!.) milk is best!.
Cocoa is an excellent appetite suppressant and is not a drug in the usual sense!.
It has been proven that people who drink chocolate based, milky or soya drinks, are less likely to feel hunger cravings (pangs) than people who drink tea or coffee or just plain water or juice!.

It also doesn't dehydrate you and will give you energy and all the things you need to get through to your next meal - you can even find ready powdered Hot Chocolates that are designed for diets!.!.!.

Slimfast shakes and the powdered sachets of moments, etc!.!.!. are VERY handy things to have!.

I'm drinking one right now!.!.!. Minty, and I put a chamomile teabag in it - It's lovely!.!.!.
Relaxing, takes away the hunger, keeps me going on my OWN juice, rather than on borrowed energy from sugars and drugs (eg, caffeine) as well as giving me nourishment to carry on my daily life!.

Oh - I keep plenty of Dunn's River Nourishment in the fridge - they're perfect!

Vassopressin is the hormone involved in controlling a person's hunger!.

The thinner the person, the more they have, the less hungry they get!.
The reverse is true for overweight people!.

Cortisol and adrenaline can also help!. They are stress chemicals, naturally ocouring in your body - but you don't need to feel stressed to get them!

Do you know where these come from and how to produce them!? And in order to help you on your diet!?

EXERCISE!

Mental or physical!.

Mental exercises will take your mind off food, it will discipline you to have the craving pass (and no craving lasts longer than 5-10 minutes: Fact!.) by occupying the hungry mind with another type of food - knowledge and puzzlement!.

Physical exercise means that you're burning calories - your diet won't have to be as severe - starving yourself is NOT healthy!.!.!.

Eating is a physical exercise - eating celery burns more calories than the food gives you!.

Going for a walk to the shops (not your local) to buy an healthy snack, preferably a milky or soya based, tasty, shake - maybe one with vitamins and minerals, etc!.!.!. - is usually the best way!.

We've had students who have joined being totally obese!.
They lose some weight through the exercise and put it on as muscle (lean weight - what you want, not skin and bone)!.!.!.

BUT

The most important factor in helping them lose weight is the nutrition and also the psychology behind food and how to fight the cravings (hunger pangs)!.

The answer to which is simple - feed your body and mind something other than what you are craving!.

It takes a while for your stomach to adjust itself and it's size to your new diet - the pangs you are feeling are these processes!.

It may be that you are on too severe a diet and not taking enough exercise!.!.!.
I eat what I want, but I have healthy meals (I eat a LOT of junk food too) and I have an athletic physique and an healthy mind!.

Exercise, mental or physical - liquid snacks that will coat your stomach - no chewing! - no binging!

Hot chocolate is the best thing you could possibly drink to help with this - especially the low calorie ones!.!.!.
It is PROVEN, through scientific studies (many of them), that it is one of the best appetite suppressants that you can get!.
AND you still get the benefits of water and stick to the dietary requirements of whatever diet you may be on - low carbs, fat, protein, high whatever, fibre, colon cleanser, anything!.

Regular water is very good!. Keep one of those sports bottles nearby and keep sipping on it- NOT VITAMIN WATER though!. Each bottle usually says 150 calories PER serving with 2 and a half servings in a bottle so you end up with about 375 calories per bottle!.However, you can't starve yourself, instead count calories that way you can eat breakfast a snack, lunch, a snack and dinner!. Because what happens is, if you are hungry and don't eat the body uses the extra carbs that it stores away but deposits fat as a leftover and you don't want that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Drink water and only eat fruit if you do end up feeling hungry!. Yoghurt can be eaten as well!
I tend to find drinking milk when I'm hungry helps as milk can be used instead of a food substance as it is technically food!. However, I woudlnt recommend having milk instead of food at meal times!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Plenty of fluids and mega low calorie snacks - I really like pickled beetroot, cucumber, chopped peppers etc

Try some chewing gum, that sometimes works!. Since you're chewing, it stops you thinking about food!. Drinking tea or coffee is usually good too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I eat when I get hungry!. But I make it fruit, or a yogurt, or something light that'll tone down the really painful feelings!. Then I simply wait until dinner!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
