What is resistance training and why do you need to do it?

what is it?I was watching a talk show today about fitness and the physical trainer on there said that you absolutely can't loose weight without resistance training,and i have lost 35 pounds in the last 3 mths with only fast pace walking for a hour everyday and a sensible diet..My goal was to loose 75 pounds and i have 45 to go,so should i take her advice or keep doing what i'm doing?

You sound like you're doing very well on the routine that you're doing right now. If you lost 35 lbs in 3 months, keep doing what you're doing.
