I'm a homemaker, with 3 children!. The only exercise I get is going up and down stairs, cleaning my house and doing laundry!. What can I do to give myself a natural boost of energy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I made a change about seven years ago and I have felt WWWAAAYYY better ever since!. You are what you eat, so if you want more energy, eat foods that are high in energy, low in calories!.

First thing in the morning drink a glass of water and then eat when you are ready!. If you drink coffee, see if you can reduce what you drink, coffee does boost your energy, but, like sugar, it is a cheap high that you have to come down from!. For breakfast, eat something that has whole grains, whole grain will help maintain a more balanced energy level throughout the day (you won't go into that afternoon 'blah')!. Regular oatmeal (not the sugared up variety) with a spoonful of peanut butter and some molasses, or whole wheat toast with maybe a slice of ham and some cheese (this is my regular work breakfast), granola cereal with soy milk (or cow's milk)!. These breakfasts give you a good amount of whole grain, and enough protein to start the day!.

For lunch a good salad with some chicken and whole grain crackers (my favorite), or anything that incorporates a good amount of vegetables, and some, but not too much protein and whole grain!. If you have a salad try to branch out from just iceberg lettuce, it is the least nutritious!. Spinach and watercress are both great starting points!. Bean sprouts are a great HIGH ENERGY addition to a salad, and they will tend to take on whatever other flavors you put in!. There are also a bunch of other kinds of sprouts that will do the same for your energy level!. In the winter I like to have soup and a half sandwich!. The key at lunch is to continue what you started at breakfast, but don't take it too far!. Don't eat so much that you feel loaded down and need a nap!. I eat about the same amount at dinner as I had at breakfast and lunch together!.

A midafternoon snack of some fresh or canned fruit will kick you into the rest of the day!. If you get canned fruit look on the ingredients list for sugar!. Get the kind that has no added sugar, it will usually have pear juice or some other kind of fruit juice!.

Start dinner with a good salad!. Then move on to an entree that has a good amount of protein and some carbohydrates!. Dinner is the meal that your body will use to repair and maintain itself in good working condition while you sleep, so it is just as important as any other meal!.

Also, keep up the water all day!. About a glass (8 ounces) every hour to hour and a half will give you about 3 quarts to a gallon of intake a day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

and hope your feeling ok again soon!!

Eat the right foods to make sure your body is getting the "fuel" it needs!. Drink enough water because not enough can make you feel sluggish!. Take a good quality multi-vitamin to help offset any nutritional deficiencies you may have!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
