Can running too much prevent weight loss?!

Question: Can running too much prevent weight loss!?
Since my sophomore year in high school, I have run almost everyday!. Now, three years later, my body has changed dramatically!. I switch up running outside or at the gym and usually run about forty minutes!. On the treadmill I do intervals every few minutes, running sprints to jogging!. I also lift weights on the weight machines usually only about once a week because any more than that makes me start to get bulky!. Anyway, I was just reading about people saying you need a day off to help your muscles and I was wondering if this was true!. I'm happier with my body than I have been in a long time, I'm pretty toned but I still could lose maybe ten pounds and be more fit!. As much as I work out and eat pretty healthy (I'm a vegetarian but I make sure to eat enough protein) it seems like I should be in better shape!. SO, I apologize for the life story but I was wondering if it would be good to start taking one day off a week, and how it will help me!. Thanks and sorry so long :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, what you should try to do is switch up your routines for both running and lifting!. And if you go to the gym you should try to lift more frequently and do less weight, so you will build lean muscle and not bulk!.
The switching of routines is very important to do either every other week or every two weeks, because your muscles start to develop something called muscle memory!. Often times this muscle memory affects the way you react towards exercise, this happens a lot to people who just repeat workouts, so they know they can already do it so it doesn't appear to give them the same results!.

Because when you exercise or lift you are actually tearing your muscles and the way you get stronger and leaner is after those muscles heal!. So thats why when those people said you need to take a day off here and there it's true, because often times your not giving your body time to heal!.

And ask your doctor or a trainer at the gym you go to, and see what their preferences are for you and how much weight you may actually need to lose!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Maybe not a whole week, but you could switch up your exercises and plan a day to rest!. Everyone needs a break, by your fitness workout, you seem to deff!. be toned and healthy enough!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

you are supposed to take a couple days off of training because even though you don't notice it, your muscles get little tears in them when you're working them out!. if you don't rest, they don't get a chance to heal and can hurt you in the long run!.

I have the same problem you do, because my mentality is to work work work, if i want to lose weight!.

however, to burn fat faster, you actually want to do more low intensity workouts such as walking for 30 minutes daily!.

hope this helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com
