Muscle milk... whats the point? ?!


Question: Muscle milk!.!.!. whats the point!? !?
my friend took muscle milk while he was in the police academy training program because he was working out like crazy!. he said it was full of protein and other stuff that helps guys bulk up but that u have to exercise alot for it to work!. what would happen if a girl drank it!? would we just get fat since we dont have enough testosterone to make us bulky like the men do!? i was going to use it as a meal replacement drink since i go to the gym after work and i dont want to eat an actual dinner at 9pm when i get home!. is that a bad idea!?

im trying to lose weight and tone up so anything that makes me gain weight isnt what im looking for :(Www@Answer-Health@Com

muscle milk first off taste GROSS! the way that muscle milk works is it replaces fat with muscle and it doesnt make you lose weight!it makes you gain weight! muscle weighs more than fat! dont replace a meal for that! if your gonna replace a meal with somryhing!.!.!.replace it with a detox drink! my friend that is a girl tried the muscle milk and she got fatter and more muscular! i wouldnt recomend muscle milk! try some other milke or shake to replace a meal! maybe a slim fast drink!i think that they taste like reallly good and there of course fat free!i have lost 20 pounds on this diet where i eat 4 to 5 small and resonably healthy meals and drank lots of water! and if you want to replace a meal for a diet drink!.!.!.you should also buy this gum! its called nutra trim and it helps with your metabolism!it helps you not want to eat as much! i had that and it is 100% healthy and natural and it works! it is make of gaurona(sry for misspell) and green tea extract! well i hope that this helps! have a good day and good luck!

It has mostly protein, with some carbs and modified lipids that are very healthy for you!.

Two MYTHS about testosterone:

1, it's a male hormone;

2, it builds muscle!.

Testosterone is the main hormone controlling LIBIDO (sex drive) in women!. It is a 'reward' hormone in men and women, and production increases whenever confidence is high or something successful has been done (for example AFTER a boxer wins a fight, or AFTER a sales executive exceeds her target)!.

Testosterone produces feelings of FOCUS and KINESTHESIA (body awareness)!. This combination affects men and women differently, because of theuir different ATTITUDES to their bodies!.

Because it makes them feel sensual (they become aware of their skin), women often get horny after a successful event!. The hormone makes men feel powerful (becoming aware of their muscles), so testosterone can make them aggressive!.

(The sprinter Ben Johnson was taking steroids just before competing, so that they would sharpen up his reaction time, rather than taking them during training to add muscle mass!.)

Steroid hormones (such as testosterone) DON'T build muscle unless you are training hard!. This is because the hormone has NO direct effect on muscle tissue!. But because it increases aggression and focus, the effect of each workout is increased!. You will hit the exercises harder, persist for longer, and ignore risks of injury!.

So the answer is: it depends on your attitude!.

If you have the 'killer instinct' to focus its effect on a punchbag or a weight bar, then your natural hormone will help you to get stronger and more brutal!. Your power, capability, and chances of winning a trophy will increase ('masculine' goals)!.

But if you enjoy a 'feminine' approach to life, and want to feel loved and protected, then testosterone is likely to make you more interested in what his physique can do for you, than in improving your own!.

Any proteins, aminos, carbs etc that you eat, will be used by your body according to the physical demands it experiences!. Hit the gym hard, and it will help to harden and tone you!. Lift heavy, and it will add muscle bulk!.

There aren't any 'magic' foods that can make you fat, so if you can use the meal replacement strategy, you should be fine!.

But if you work out hard enough to make you hungry, so that you need to eat some more on the way home or when you get there, then you WILL gain weight!.

You're not going to get fat if you drink it and work out somewhat, like do some muscle toning exercises!.

The misconception is that if you barely eat anything AND work out, you'll lose weight!. It's might be true, BUT very dangerous/harmful to the body system because if you don't have enough energy to do the work out, then you're going to wear your body out and pretty soon, you may end up in a hospital bed!.

What you should do is change your eating habit to a healthier one and start exercising (people tell you this over and over because it WORKS!)!.

Disclaimer: I don't recommend any diet to you or anyone, but I just wanted to share my experience!. You should talk to your nutritionist/doctor before making any drastic changes to your body!.

What I did was I went on an "eating-only-corn-flakes" diet!. xD I lost the weight really quickly (~25 lbs)!. After a 2-3 weeks of eating only corn flakes with regular milk for breakfast/lunch/dinner (NO snacks whatsoever)!. (You can try it with skim, 1%, or 2% milk to lose even more weight!.) I went off the diet and started eating normal, and healthy foods, with A LOT of water and tons of fruits!. I'm able to keep off the weight I've lost for ~6 years now!. At summer camp, I've also went on a cereal-salad-and-skim milk "diet"!. For breakfast, I would only eat grain cereal with skim milk and drink another glass!. For lunch and dinner each day, I had only a salad and two glasses of skim milk per meal!. Camp was only 5 days, but I lost a considerable amount of weight for my father to notice my weight loss!. xD

Currently, I've been exercising!. I have an "air-stepper" at home, and I get on it for 15 minutes each day to get my cardio workout!. I take my pulse at 5 min!. intervals for 15 minutes to see if I'm improving!. ^_^ Then, I get on my Total Gym and start working on my arms and legs (pulling, pushing, etc!.)!. To tone my abs, I do 200 crunches; they are much easier than sit-ups!. ^_^ Lastly, I do 100 of those "standing-up" crunches!. I don't know what to call them, but I saw it on Hip-Hop Abs!. The lay down crunches and the standing up crunches that I do gave me the flat stomach I have now!. ^____^ Very happy with the results!. You can do as many as your body can tolerate for ONE day and feel your stomach flatter immediately afterwards (at least for me)! It's incredible!

If you do not have gym equipment, just jumping around and running place for 15-30 minutes will get you your cardio workout!. Eat yogurt, fruits, and other health foods!. Drink tons of water and your daily dosage of milk!. ^_^
