Question: 10 Best ANSWER WILL I LOOSE WEIGHT!?
I am going to get an elliptical tomorrow and i plan to get on it for 1 hour a day!. I plan to eat special k in the moring with low fat milk and something small at dinner time!. But i am 5'4 and 160 lbs and i am trying to loose weight for my wedding it is aug 8 , 2009!. How much do you think i will loose if i do that an hour a day!. And i am going to be very devoted to that and my diet!. Please no bogus answers this is very important to me!. This is my wedding day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Congrats on your engagement!!

Basically, you have lots of time on your hands!.

What you need to do is make sure that you are eating less calories than your expending through your resting metabolic rate and everyday life!. You've tackled both parts of this equation - you've altered your eating habits and you've change your exercise levels!. This is the perfect combination so long as you still maintain a healthy diet - on the Special K front, try to cut out salt in your diet!. Special K is actually very high in salt, and salt makes you retain water, so to get the figure you're after keep the salt in the rest of your diet to a minimum!.!.

What I would say though is build up to the full hour!. I'm thinking from a sustainability point of view!.!.!. an hour is a lot to get the ball rolling!. Why not try 20 mins the first time and build up by 5 mins daily!? That would seem to me to be more sustainable between now and your wedding!.

I think you could easily lose 2 lbs a week!. And with a year to go that's a heck of a lot!.!. so you can take it slightly easy!.!.!. aim for 1lb a week and that way your diet wont be too harsh and your elliptical strider wont feel like it's strode al the way to see the Olympics and back! If you find you are losing more than 2lbs a week, then you should probably start slowing down a bit - 2lbs is the accepted healthy level!.

By the end of your first week, you'll know how much effort you are or aren't going to have to put in - don't worry if you need to tinker with your diet or the amount of exercise you are doing - you've lots of time!.

With a year before the big event, you're doing all the right things to get yourself in the perfect shape (and it sounds like you'll do it by Christmas ;-)

Most experts will say it is typical to lose 2 lbs a week, so over 51 weeks you could ideally lose 102 lbs!. In reality, you will hit a plateau probably about 4-6 weeks in (after losing 10-15 lbs)!. At that point you will need to up the exercise, either in duration or intensity!. Personally, to progress over my plateau on an elliptical I have to increase by 3-4 resistance and 2-3 elevation, but it may be different for you!. One suggestion I have for you is to check out the book "French Women Don't Get Fat", because in my experience eating the same things every day doesn't work out long-term and this book has a ton of delicious low-fat, etc recipes!. this is going to help you lose a couple of pounds but if you can add a little running 3-4 times a week than you could lose a lot of pounds in the next year but staying motivated is extremely difficultWww@Answer-Health@Com

I have tried so many diets in my life that have failed me!. Diets don't work, eat what you want in moderation!. It took me a long time to realize that, I usually eat 6 times per day and I have lost about 10 pounds in the course of a month!. So lets say you went walking for 1 hour at a normal walking speed lets say 2 mph you would be burning 229 calories !. So now lets add what your body usually burns with the work out 2,500 + 229 calories=2729 in a day with that walking you would burn 2729 calories now the trick is to eat 500 calories less of 2729 which is the amount of calories you should consume to lose 1 pound a week!. If you were to walk every day for 1 hour eating 2229 calories a day you would lose 1 pound!. Your wondering why you have to subtract 500 !?!?!? in order to lose 1 pound you need to burn 3,500 calories 500x7( each day of the week)=3,500!. Be wise in the choices you make with food because 2229 calories is a good amount of food!. You wouldn't want 1000 calories waisted on a gross big mac with fries when you could have a tuna sandwich with cheese with chips for half of the amount of calories!.
