V-shaped cut in abs?!
Question:
V-shaped cut in abs?
i am traing right now to make my core more defined. i know i need low body fat and all, i just want to know the name of the v-shaped abdominal muscle you see in guys that kind of starts at the hips and goes into the crotch. also, some excercises that can isolate this muscle
Answers:
It's the rectus abdominis -- which is nothing more than the lower part of your abdominal muscle. This area can also be accentuated by well developed hip flexor muscles, which will contribute to that v-shape.
Exercises that emphasize the lower half of the rectus abdominis include hanging leg raises (especially when performed straight legged), decline crunches, incline leg raises, and v-up. Links to examples of the exercises are included below.
