is it true that if you skip breakfast your metabolism doesnt get started for the day or something like that?

okay and is there a certain number of calories you have to consume for your metabolism to get going in the morning? or would eating ANYTHING get it going in the morning?


Answers:

Skipping breakfast slows down your metabolism in general, not just till lunch. Morning is the time when your body is asking for energy. If you're not eating, it decides that things are really bad and it's starvation time, and slows down the metabolism to make sure you stay alive longer. Naturally, you feel tired and move slower.

You need to eat good-size breakfast. Tiny breakfast is still considered starvation by your body. A bowl of cereal or a bagel with tea is a good breakfast, 3 raisins is not a good breakfast. I like a cup of low fat yogurt and a fruit, and perhaps a slice of bread or some wheat crackers that I find in my cup board.

It's the dinner that you want to cut the calories from.
