The answer to this depends on your gender!. Also, you shouldn't be looking to lose more than 2lb a week, and you've got about 11-12 weeks here!. You're probably not going to be able to lose more than half your goal without harming yourself!. Instead, consider your goal to be wanting to lose as much as possible!. That way, every pound you lose is a victory, rather than considering losing 25lb to be a defeat (because it's a big thing)!.
Anyway, you're really looking to exercise and dropping your calorie intake a little!. You should go to bed feeling hungry (but not ravenous) so if you eat your biggest meal in the evening, try shifting it so that you eat more at lunch and less then!.
For exercise, you should try to fit it in wherever you can, but be careful about what you do!. For example, doing weights while trying to lose weight can result in you actually losing muscle mass, as your body uses existing muscle to repair the damage that you cause during your workout!. Therefore, be careful if you decide to use weights (mainly making sure you eat enough protein and that, like I said before, you're not ravenous at bedtime; 'noticeably hungry' is more than enough)!.
Running can be pretty good for losing weight, and using a rowing machine, if you can get to one, is a very good way of burning calories quickly!.
The most important thing is to remember that your body has limits!. If you push those limits, you will harm yourself!. I cannot stress that enough!. Start small and work up from there!. If you're finding you get dizzy or exhausted, you're doing too much!.

Two lbs a week is considered safest!. To lose 5 lbs a week, you will need to cut calories and exercise a bit!. Try a balanced 1200-calorie a day diet and take a long walks every day!. I have used some poles called Nordic Walking poles!. These will burn about 400 calories an hour and are fun!. You can also try riding a bike or swimming!.
