Question: Help a teen girl lose fat!?
I have fat on my stomach and legs and I want to become a little more toned!. Does anyone have some exercises that will help me lose the fat!? I already run cross country!. And I'm 14!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you do cross country, you're probably already pretty healthy! :D
But i know what its like to have a little extra, and want to lose it!.

For your stomach!.!.i suggest doing crunches (ugh,i know!. not really fun!.)
Start out doing 2 sets of 20!., then add more sets once that becomes easy!. You'll start to build more muscle in your stomach!.

If you can, try to take a brisk walk for about 30 minutes 3 times a week!. Increase the time/number of times you do it if you want!.

As for diet, i wouldn't suggest doing much!.!.as your 14 & still growing!.
Make sure your not eating more than 30% of your calories from fat!.
(example:if your eating something that has 150 calories, ,make sure its less than 45 calories from fat!.)

Also, try eating more fruit & vegtebles in place of chips and other 'junk' food!.

Eat more (good) foods in the morning, and less later on in the day!.

also, in health class at the beginning of my 10th grade year i was about 22% body fat!., we had this thing that calculated it & stuff!.

later on in the year in gym class we had to do the same thing, and i was 17% body fat!.

I hadn't done anything drastic to my diet, but i did start drinking green tea-like the hot kind you make yourself, not the bottled stuff!.


So you could try drinking that, if you like the taste of it!. Make sure you dont add too much sugar,honey,or milk though!.

If you're already running, that's good because you're getting an aerobic workout!. How long and how many times a week do you run!? Aerobic helps overall tone and keep your body in shape!. Quite simply: Eat less fat, move more!.

But, at 14 your body still has growing and developing to do!. You need that fat to fuel your body!. Focus on eating healthy and getting into good exercise habits now and you'll do fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
