Why do I eat so much?Do I have a problem?!


Question: Why do I eat so much!?Do I have a problem!?
Hey,

I haven't always eaten too much--it started when I was about 13!. I was thin and I didn't really fear gaining weight so I started eating all the time!. I would eat when I was bored, happy,sad,even when I was full!. I didn't really start gaining weight until I was about 15!. It was maybe an additional 10-15 lbs from my normal weight!. I was so upset that I went on a diet and began exercising more!. I dropped about 10 lbs!. Some days I would only eat about 700 calories---w/o being hungry afterwards!. Lately I have been eating at least 1500 a day!. I feel like I could be thinner if I didn't have this urge to eat!. I really do eat too much!.

Today I had 3 bowls of cereal, a salad, a spinach sandwich, a banana,an apple, ice cream, bread w/ jam, cantoloupe,gum, !.!.!.I think that's it!.
I'm not sure if that sounds like a HUGE amount of food!.!.but I feel like I overate, I even felt sick later!. I definetly eat much more than my friends do!.

I have the same problems as you!. And the thing is, I'm not fat and something tells me you're not either!. Maybe you eat because your body needs it!.!.!.are you under stress or something!?

Do u feel tired a lot!? Or do you eat to avoid certain things that are happening in your life!? If so, you should resolve those first and then you might find your eating habbit will change naturally!.

I've been meaning to see a doctor because I'm ALWAYS hungry or craving food, but I'm always too lazy to go!. Maybe you should see a doctor just in case it's a medical problem!. Good luck!

Cereal doesn't really stay with you so I think three bowls is probably okay!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

drink more water, at least 8 glasses a day!. It will make feel fuller and you won't eat as muchWww@Answer-Health@Com

you might have a problem, but i think you can still fix it!., and you need to!.
Eating disorders might sound cool, but their not!.!.you can completely mess up your metabolism!.

it sounds like you might have been an emotional eater,then you started to restrict!.!.severly (700cals!?wow!)
Since your body adjusted to running on 700 calories, its not used to 1500!.

What i suggest you do is start eating about 1300 calories a day, everyday!. Make sure you eat GOOD food, and not too much fatty,sweet junk!.

Also, work out lightly!. Do crunches, take brisk walks, lift light weights!.!.

now, 1300 might seem like alot to you know!.!.but if you stick to it !.!.and not starve yourself or binge!.!.your metabolism will adjust and you'll be back to a good weight!.

how tall are you and how much do ya weigh!? you might be still growing!.!.!.!. 1,500 calories is not a bucket of them, it's pretty normal in a range of decent intake!.

Anything below 1,000 is not good for the body!.

If you are becoming an emotional eater - replace the emotion/eating cycle with movement or activity!.

Stop eating before you feel full!. It takes your brain 20 minutes to realize your stomach is filled, so you'll overeat at one meal and feel ill!.

spread your food out into smaller meals and keep a food journal!. if you ate all that food you listed in one or two sittings!.!.!. you're eating too much all at once!. The fruit and veg are good for you tho, but too much can still make you feel sick

You need to find a hobby!. Especially one that gets you out of the house and that involves some moving around like golf, tennis, jogging, gardening or something besides sitting around the house snacking!. There might be two things "wrong" with you: first you need to practice on improving your self control!. Tell yourself when you get the urge to eat that you don't need to eat and you are full!. Second, you have a hole in your life that you need to fill with something healthy!. Get out and do stuff!. Volunteer somewhere!. Go to public places and meet people!. Something!. I started volunteering at a museum in my area lately when I found myself waiting for a new contract to start!. I started getting bored stiff and gettin anxious just thinking about when the next work contract would start and what it would entail!. Now that I spend my free time at the museum, I don't worry about it anymore and I find my time just flies by!. I'm beginning to think I'd rather work full time at the museum for pay than go back to doing another work contract!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like your sencitive to emotional comfort!.
So you got bored and decided to eat!. Then it became a habit!.
Then you decided to eat for comfort when you were sad!.
Maze well thro in happy too!
So then you got to it and it didn`t comfort you as much!. so you kept eating more waiting for comfort and it didn`t come because you were now subcontiously making yourself feel worse!. am I right do you think!?
I`ve been there!.

When you get emotional try to think about something else, do something else instead of reaching for food!. Go for a jog, say "I`ll eat after a quick jog", then when your realy puffed you will not feel like eating, trust me!!. Call a friend, go out with them!. Also ask them what they do when they feel sad!. For ideas!. Or you can ask on here!!.
