Is there any quick weigh of getting my weight down to 9 stone!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Well the information you have giving isn't enough to determine if you are overweight!. however i have worked out your body mass index (BMI ratio of your weight to height^2) and it turns out to be around 26, according to health officials the ideal range is between 20-25 so according to this criteria you would be classed overweight!. The problem with the BMI calculation is that it has many limitations for example sex, muscle mass and bone mass are not included in the calculation this presents misinterpretation especially when it's used to calculate the BMI of an athletically built individual!. I currently have a BMI of around 26 which would class me as overweight, I'm 6' 2" and weigh around 14!.5 St but i can ensure you i'm not overweight I'm a championship kickboxer and run 100 miles per week and therefore the high BMI is simply a result of a large amount of muscle mass and a large skeletal frame!.

I would assume due to the fact that you are posting this question you are a little concerned about your weight and unlike me you are not as physically active and worried maybe a lot of your weight comes from body fat!. if this this the case i would say not to worry you fall just out side the healthy range and it wouldn't take long to reduce your weight to a "healty BMI"

The first thing i would say is get rid of your scales there useless and concentrate on lowering your body fat percentage and use a mirror to see the results!. The reason why is long so i will cut it short scales measure mass that is your bodys total mass (muscle, fat bones ect) they unfortunately can't workout whats healthy for you and whats not so even tough your weight is decreasing you could be losing muscle rather than fat therefore making you fatter by definition!. Take me for example my BMI is the same as yours but my body fat percentage is around 7-8 % most of the year and maybe a little higher in the winter this is rather lean but thts only due to my sport!.

Your remark abount 9 stone well thats fine that would make you have a BMI of 23 well within the healthy range but you want to ensure the weight comes off as fat rather than muscle!. This means it has to be done gradualy rather than rapidly and super low calorie diets are a no no as they trigger your body into survival mode and essentially prepares you for starvation!. It does this by storing as much calories in the form of fat and uses other forms of fuel to give you the energy you need (mainly muscle) leaving you feeling weak and very tired and although your weight has dropped which it will very quickly you will be essentially fatter!. A good example of this in nature is mamals that hibernate during the winter months such as bears they prepare there bodies in a similar way to whats mentioned above to survive without food for long periods of time living off there fat stores!.

I would suggest you adopt a better diet and introduce a cardio and weight training program into your daily activities!. Slightly reduce your calories but ensure you eat all the nutrients you need ie protein, complex carbs and vitimins!. Good general program would be assuming you just want to get more lean and better your health cardio at least half an hour 3 times or more per week (treadmill, bike, rowing machine, swimming ect) and weight training 2 or 3 times per week working each body part keeping it light just enough to ensure to retain your muscle mass and stop yourself from becoming weak and tired!. If you follow this religiously and keep your diet good you will see big results in a few months!.

I take it your a female so heres some info women store more fat than men thats just life!. The rule of thumb is that men start showing six pack abs at BF percentage lower than 10 % however women are considered equally lean at percentages of around 15 % but anything under 25 % BF is a healthy range for an adult women!. Humans need some fat and very low BF below 4 % is considered dangerous this is why bodybuilders cannot sustain coplitition condition for long periods of time!.

Note BF = body fat and is the compsition of your total mass taking up by fat!.

Good training and eating tips - Change your workouts every so often this will keep your body guessing and the results will be quicker also once you have mastered a certain level in the gym raise your game so you are constanly getting fitter and stronger!. Try eating 5 or 6 small meals per day this keeps your metabolism high and means you burn more calories and DRINK PLENTLY OF WATER this is a must water keeps you hydrated reduces the chance of injury by lubricating your muscles and joints and prevents overtraining aim for about 3 litres per day more if you are realy going for it!.

Follow all of the above and you will look good and feel good in no time!.

This is a detailed answer as any1 on this is likely to give!. And its all the truth people reciting BMI counts clearly don't have a clue!. If u agree give me the best answer :D:D:DWww@Answer-Health@Com

At 10 stone 9 lbs your BMI is 25!.6, which does make you overweight!. There are unfortunately no quick fixes for successful weight loss!.

The problem with your question is that if you look in "search for questions" it comes up 30 times every day!. I have had some criticism for repeatedly using the same answer, but since I am happy with my answer, and the questions are the same, I don't see the issue with recycling the same answer!.

In practise for problems that came up on a regular basis we tended to use patient leaflets to avoid having to repeat ourselves this seemed a sensible use of resources!. What follows is thus in effect me information leaflet!.

Weight loss and fitness is always a long term commitment and never a quick fix!. If you really want to reduce your weight a bit, this is a complex regime, that should help, I would get a pencil to write it down, in case you forget any of the intricate details!.

No not particularly!.

I'm 5ft2 and 140lbs (10 stone) - which apparently is over weight for my height according to online calculators and BMI scales, however, my lean muscle percentage is 79% and my body fat is 21% which I'm informed by my doctor is super fit!.

I wear a size 8 (UK) and have a flat defined stomach, I have a high muscle percentage becuase I do a lot of sports!.

So weight is not always the way to evaluate if you are 'fat' (hate that word), how FIT are you would be a better question!.

And NO, there is no quick HEALTHY way of getting your weight down to 9stone (if you even can)!.

You need to evaluate your eating and exercise regime, sticking to healthy close to source foods and doing at least 40-60 minutes of cardio 4 or 5 times per week and 4-5 30+ minute toning sessions!.

Take up a sport and replace snack foods with vegetables or fruit and you'll be surprised how quickly your body will change!.

Good Luck

If when I am not on medication for a medical condition I have developed for around the same height I am usually around the 9stone - 9!.7stone mark but at present I am around 11st-12st and it was suggested could I eat a little less to avoid adding extra lbs but as I eat only healthy foods in general and all that is said to be the right diet I refuse to get troubled over it, I have reached a point where I maintain the same weight and hopefully as things improve so will my weight reduce again!.

So just possibly you are on the borderline!? I'd only really worry if you start to increase and continue to do so!. It is possible to become obsessed because of all the programmes on tv and radio, given by so called experts when in reality all that is required is common sense!.

You know your own body!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
