How do i start to lose weight?!


Question: How do i start to lose weight!?
I'm going to start eating healthy tomorrow!. I am a big girl who weigs 260 pounds and I've been big all of my life!. I hate the way that I look!. I am always thinking about food and I am an emotional eater!.

I want to be able to eat healthy for the rest of my life and avoid all fats!. how do I be patient with all of this!? and also!.!.!.how many calories should I eat a day!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

1!. Good on you for wanting to get healthy!. I was in your shoes, about 250, and I've lost 80lbs and kept it off!.!.!.I feel great!.

2!. You are not an emotional eater!. We ALL eat during emotional times!. We eat at birthday parties, at holidays, and even at funerals!. We all eat like this!.!.!.there's no "emotional" eating!. You must remember that you are fat because you are inactive and eat too much!. Don't blame things like "emotional eating," or else you will sabotage your diet, thinking that you have "no control!.!.!.I over-eat because I am an emotional eater!." Accept the responsibility!.!.!.that's the only way you'll be able to take hold of it!.

3!. Essentially fatty acids are called "essential" for a reason!. Do not avoid ALL fats!. Just make sure you eat lean protein and natural carbohydrates!. Eat 5-6 small meals each day made of lean protein and natural carbs and you'll be fine!. Eat every 2-3 hours, and stop when you're full!. Don't worry about counting calories!.

4!. You are not bad, you did not "cheat" on your diet!. You plan on doing this forever! A piece of cake isn't a devestating end that brings your efforts to a halt! It's just a piece of cake, that's it!. And if you eat your 5-6 meals a day, your metabolism will be burning so it'll take care of that cake!. I had three slices of pizza, three breadsticks, and a cup of noodle soup for dinner last night!.!.!.and I didn't gain any weight!. My metabolism can take care of it!.

5!. Focus on being healthy!. Healthy food in, and healthy effort out! Workout with weights and do cardio, and don't forget the yoga!. Doing this will not only give you results, but more importantly it will build a healthy, strong body!.

6!. You have your entire life ahead of you: that's how you be patient!. Don't ever give yourself a time limit, and NEVER give yourself a weight limit!. Just keep a workout journal, and you can do this!!

Good for you! I'm an emotional eater too!. Just make sure it's not always "tomorrow" -- it's so easy to fall into the habit of promising to change tomorrow and not today!.

One thing to keep in mind is that if you don't "allow" yourself treats every once in a while then you're probably going to completely stop!.

Did you know that by adding ONE soda per day into your diet you gain TEN pounds in one year!? That really adds up!. So if you drink soda, wipe that completely out of your diet!. And avoid diet soda as well!. I stopped drinking soda about 4 years ago and now I don't even like it - it bloats me and doesn't even taste good!. You have to re-train your taste buds, whether it's a craving for soda or chocolate or any other junk food!.

Switch to dark chocolate for your "treats" if you're a chocaholic!. Dark chocolate will leave you a lot more satisfied and give you wonderful antioxidants!

Don't EVER starve yourself to lose weight!. This will only slow down your metabolism!.

Eat a healthy breakfast! I took a college fitness class last semester and my professor said "Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper!." In other words, breakfast needs to be your big meal - you need to fuel yourself for another day! Lunch needs to keep you going, but by dinner you should be winding down!. Don't have a big dinner - have something small - fruits, veggies, crackers or small servings of yummy dinner foods (i love my pastas! but everything in moderation!)

Pick a time in the evening and don't allow yourself to eat past that time!. Personally, I don't eat after 8p!.m!. because my acupuncturist told me it was bad for my liver!.!.!. for some reason it's a lot easier for me to think in that way then to think it's in order to lose weight!. But pick a reasonable time for you - no later than 8 or 8:30!.!.!. if you crave food after that time (goodness knows most of us do) then have a BIIIIG GLASS OF WATER!.!.!. and if you have a late day and HAVE to have a small bit to eat before bed because you missed dinner then don't hit yourself over the head for it!

Forgive yourself!. It's easy to be hard on yourself!. It's easy to get mad at yourself, but in order for this to work you have to work WITH yourself, not against yourself!.

Well first you have to remember that the pounds don't just magically come off!.

1 pound = 3,500 calories

Take your weight in pounds and add a zero to the end, that's how many calories you should eat daily to lose weight!. In your case that would be 2,600 calories per day!. As you lose weight you'll have to gradually lower your caloric intake!.

Daily physical activity is also important!. 30-60 minutes per day most days!.

Make sure you drink enough water, your weight in OZ!. ( so for you 260 oz!.) is recommended

1 cup = 8 oz!.

You need to be aware of the fat and calorie contents in foods so you can make healthy choices!.
