How to lose weight and get 6 packs?!

Question: How to lose weight and get 6 packs!?
Answers:
I've struggled with my weight (I'm 5'7" and was up to 202) for a long time, but at 31, I've finally had some success!. In the last 6 months, I've dropped to 175 and am well on my way to my goal of 155!.

Here's what worked for me:

1) Stop drinking liquids with sugar and stop drinking carbonated beverages (even diet soda)!. I don't like drinking plain old water all the time--it gets boring!. Drink propel--it tastes great and has a lot fewer calories than gatorade, for instance!.

2) Work out (both cardio and weights 3-4 times a week), minimum 30 minutes of cardio and a good mix of weights!.

3) I cannot stress this enough -- GET A WORKOUT PARTNER!. This is probably the biggest factor in my success!. A workout partner helps to keep you accountable and just helps with overall motivation so you don't start slacking!.

4) Stop eating when you body tells you that you're full!. I was in the habit of eating until I was stuffed ever since I was a teenager!. If you stop when you're full, you won't want to continue eating after 5 minutes or so!.

As far as the 6 pack is concerned, I would suggest lots and lots and lots of crunches!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

There is only one way to lose weight: burn more calories than you eat!. Get in the habit of walking or jogging on a daily basis and kick the junk food!

As far as abs, you might have the greatests six pack in the world but nobody will know it if it's covered in a layer of fat!. Situps won't change that!. Also, there's no such thing as losing fat in one place but not another!. Your entire body gains and loses fat at the same time, so just concentrate on burning more calories than you eat!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The first important note is that you don't want to damage your back!. When i first went to the gym i would do 200 sit ups on a roman chair (which is a declined bench) and i thought i was awesome!. After about a month i had a bit of a 6 pack but i could barely bend over or stand up straight!. Your abs are muscles so work them like the rest, for example to get big biceps you do 3 sets or 10 bicep curls you don't go and do 100 curls in a row cause it is not effective!. So i got a personal trainer and we now do the following!.

On the edge of your bed lean back with your feet off the bed and your back on it, and raise yourself off the bed a bit and bring your knees towards you!. Your abdominal muscles are used here to balance you and stop you falling off the bed, while your obliques are also being used!.

On the ground sit on a pillow so your tail bone wont hurt, and put your toes under the edge of your bed to keep you down!. And just do about 10-15 sit ups/crunches but do them really slow!. Instead of doing 200 if you do them slow your back wont hurt and it will be doing the same thing!. When reaching the lower part of the extension (nearly laying flat on the ground) hold the position and you will really feel your muscles work!. (my whole body shakes and it is good for the abdominals as they are holding you up)!. This will only do abdominals not obliques, but will create a visible line/area between the bas and obliques!.

The best thing for abs however is as follows: At most gyms there will be a bar at about your height maybe a bit taller (it might be a chin up bar or handles etc), of course you can always use monkey bars in a park as well!. What you want to do is grab the bar and just dangle off!. Your feet should be off the ground and sort of just hold yourself up (this will also be good for your arms) now slowly raise your knees towards your chest and then slowly let them back down and repeat!. You can also raise your entire legs so that they are in line with your pelvis (so you are in a sort of L shape) however this will really hurt and is probably a bit advanced!. This is good for you abdominals for the following reasons: You are holding yourself up off the ground using your arms and by raising your knees your abdominals are keeping your body from swinging and they are tense!. Lifting your knees then really tenses the abdominals and releasing them back so that you are dangling extends them fully!. This also works the obliques!.

I also recently started laying with my legs towards one side and doing sit ups!. This does your (side abs) obliques but you just cant lift yourself up as high!. Also while laying down flat on your back keep your legs straight and raise them (bend at the hips) until they are vertical!. This will give you that nice line down the sides of your abs once again 9working the obliques)

I was fit before starting this (low fat percentage) and did three sets of 12 reps of each exercise on a monday, wednesday and friday!. Saturday morning i had visible abs and now i continue to do this!. diet is very important and you have to pretty much have no fat on you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't do any ab related exercises they are all bogus!. skip the sit-ups, and crunches etc!. complete waste of time!. the best way to get a six pack is to burn all the fat off of your body by eating non fattening food, fruits veggies, water etc!. lean meats, fish and poultry!. completely avoid all french fries, chips, cookies, and sweetened beverages!. If you've ever seen Survivor you've noticed that they all have six packs after 39 days of not eating garbage, they only eat fish, fruits and veggies!. of course running and/or swimming will speed up the process!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I found this on this website!. There are more tips and info!.

1!. If what you are eating has less than 1 carb, count it as 1 carb just to be sure!.

3!. Drink a MINIMUM of 8 glasses of plain water or seltzer daily!.

4!. Don't weigh yourself more than once a week

5!. Take starting measurements as well as weight - sometimes you'll lose inches before pounds

6!. Avoid any type of "low carb" sweetener for the first two weeks

7!. Don't compare your loss to someone else's - this is a YMMV thing (your milage may vary)

8!. Stalls are common around the third week so don't panic

9!. If you follow your plan to the T and don't lose, consider Candida as a possibility and avoid vinegar, cheese, mushrooms and any other fermented food

10!. Have bloodwork done before starting so you have a comparison

11!. Cholesterol can be elevated in the first few weeks til your body adjusts - make sure your doctor knows that you're doing low carb and when you started

12!. Don't blame the diet if you don't read your plan book -- blame the diet if you don't read the labels -- Don't blame the diet if you don't follow the diet
