Cardio and weight lifting - does it cancel each other out?!

Question: Cardio and weight lifting - does it cancel each other out!?
I've been doing cardio for 40-60 minutes everyday on the elliptical!. I burn 500 calories in 40 minutes and burn 750 calories in 60 minutes on alternative days!. Immediately after, I hit the weights, focusing on each body part everyday!.

I have about 15!.5%-16% of body fat, weighting in at 180 as of now!. My priority has been my abs, they're pretty flat, though not visibly "toned!." When I walk, it barely "jiggles," only near the love handles, and that's how I measure the progress of my abs!.

I'm really a novice at bodybuilding and working out, I just do cardio and lift weights!.

My question is - if I'm lifting weights and doing however minutes of cardio 6 days of the week, would my muscle groups (that are worked out) continue to bulk as my abs continue to become more defined!?

I know common sense dictates it a stupid question, but for some reason I just keep thinking that if I only do cardio, my abs would become more toned faster than if I were to lift weights and do cardio together (as in: same day)!.

*I work out my abs often, so I'm not just relying on cardio to tone my abs!. Crunches, leg raises, ab machines with resistance, etc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
No, they don't cancel each other out, provided you're taking in enough calories to fuel both!.

The best way to do it is to do cardio daily, and alternate every other day or so which muscle groups you work out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think the key is to lower your body fat percentage (cardio) to reveal the ab muscles that are there and by this time well-defined through the weights/toning exercises!. Everyone has great ab muscles, it's just a matter of how much fat is covering them :) Keep doing what you're doing, this may just be your "problem" area that you'll just have to fight with for awhile!.
