Question: I am almost a vegetarien and I am a 12 year old girl!. How much protein should I get every day!?
As I said, I am a 12 year old girl, and I am skinny!. I weight 71 pounds!. I don't like any meat but cooked beef with BBQ sauce!. Some people are worried about how much protein I have!. I don't like eggs, milk alone, green beans, some fruit, most beans, and some other stuff!. Mostly, I only eat cereal, Mac'N Cheese, toast, pancakes/waffles, chips, chips'n cheese,bread and butter, desserts, corn and potaotes, and some more!. I tried this portein supplement from Meijers that you put in a drink, but I just hated the taste!. I want to try pills or vitemens but I bet I won't like the taste!. Everyone else in my family eats meat!. I use to eat meat but no one, not even me, knows why I quit!. Both of my parents smoke, if that changes your answer!. I don't have a lot of muscle and protein!. I need a tasty type of vitemen or I need someone to tell me how much protein I should have had in one day!. (Please say how much proteain I need a day In Grams!.) Www@Answer-Health@Com

yikes! your diet is not very healthy!. although you are not overweight your body fat percentage my be too high!. Even people that do not have a weight problem can have high cholesterol and/or blood pressure!.

Add more fruit and veggies to your diet!. Try to limit the high fat high calorie high sugar foods you are consuming including: Pancakes/waffles, mac N Cheese, butter, high sugar cereals, desserts!.

Yogurt and cottage cheese will help with your protein intake!. You may wish to seek nutritional counseling to get on a better diet plan!.
You should get about !.5 grams of protein per lb of body weight!. If you want to put on muscle by working out up that to 1 gram of protein per lb of body weight!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

To stay healthy you need to eat approximately 1 gram of protein for every 2 pounds you weigh!. However, if you want to gain muscle, you need 1-2 grams of protein for every 1 pound you weigh!.

I strongly recommend that you stay away from protein pills; either use protein shakes or protein bars!.
Personally, I like Brad King's Chocolate powder and Brad King's Vanilla powder!. I usually mix the powder with some milk, fruit, and ice!.

Generally, you should try to get at least 1/3 of your of your body weight in grams of protein!. So if you're 71lbs the you should try to take in right around 20-25grams of protein!. The more active you are the higher the amount of protein you need daily!. i!.e!. Bodybuilders use 1!.5 times their body weight due to the extreme amount of muscle damage caused by lifting weight and the protein repairs the muscle fibers!.
