Is young weight lifting godd for you ?

i am 14 years old and i am drinking protein drinks and doing weights, will this do any damage to my body ?


Answers:

It will only damage your body if you do it wrong. If you would like to learn how to lift correctly, ask your phys ed teacher/coach at school for some advice. You can also buy the book by Mark Rippetoe called Starting Strength. http://www.startingstrength.com/... This book is a guide to correct weight training.

Weight lifting is a good thing to start, I started when I was thirteen. My dad had some old sand filled weights in the basement, I pulled them out and lifted whenever I was bored.

Drink your protein within an hour of lifting weights, this is when your body needs it the most and will absorb all it can. If you drink them at random times, the benefits are lost and you will more than likely waste your money.

Try to eat lots of chicken and fish. They are low in fat and high in protein. Also, try to jog or ride bike. This will help keep your body fat low and your muscles will show up better.
