The general media suggests 30min of exercise most days of the week!. This was changed from the original recommendation of 30 min 3x/week!.
Be advised that the general population is in terrible shape and very weak!. My humble recommendations would be to exercise as much as your body will allow while still being able to recover properly and keep you mentally excited!.
One semester I was lifting weights for about 2 hours(including changing/stretching/cardio) 4-5x per week, rock climbing for 2 hours on fridays, and kickboxing in the mornings for 1 hr 3x/week!. This was all while working full time and going to college!. If i was too exhausted to work out i would take time off accordingly!.
Yes you can overtrain, but if you listen to your body you will know what to do!. How much you workout should be determined by what kind of shape you would like to be in, your body's personal recovery rate, whether you enjoy it, and your schedule!.

You should workout a minimum of 30 minutes a day, but if u want to ga max go for at most an hour and a half, 4-5 times a weekWww@Answer-Health@Com
You should exercise at least 30 minutes a day!. If you want to lose weight or gain muscle mass etc!. then you would obviously workout more!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
