What is the best exercise for an overweight, unhealthy, 55 year old woman?

I need to excercise but its very hard for me, any sensible suggestions would be greatly appreciated.....

swimming would be best along with walking

Swimming is low impact, and burns a lot of calories and also targets more muscles than most other exercises
