Chew each bite of food no less than 30 times?!

Chew each bite of food no less than 30 times?

I know this guy, real stickler for healthy eating. He says that if you chew each bite of food that you take a minimum of 30 times before you swallow you are less likely to over eat because your jaw will get tired and you will have a chance to feel when you become full. Anyone tried this? Does it work? What do you think?

Actually, it's your hypothalamus that is responsible for receiving and sending the signal to tell you that you are full.

The number of times you chew will have minimal impact on how much you eat. Don't you want to enjoy your food when you eat instead of 1..2..3..4.......

If you're concerned about over eating a more effective method is to serve yourself on smaller plates or have a predetermined amount of food w/no second servings. What does help is drinking plenty of water with meals as well as foods higher in fiber.
