since your a football player, i'm guessing you want to gain mostly if not all muscle!. Do a lot of weight lifting and resistance exercises to build up your muscles!. To supplement that eat a lot more calories especially protein!. Here's some tips

-ensure plus or boost plus
-muscle milk
-whole milk
-milkshakes
-fruit juice and nectars
-smoothies
Add these to Drinks
-whey or soy protein powder
-carnation instant breakfast
-nonfat dried milk
Add in these snacks
-ice cream
-fage total (the full fat kind)
-bagels and cream cheese
-muffins
-cake, brownies, cookies
-oatmeal (made with milk and add a couple bananas to it)
-peanut butter banana and honey on a bagel or thick bread
-dried fruit
