What are the long term effects of not eating enough calories over a period of ti!

Question: What are the long term effects of not eating enough calories over a period of time!?
I'm suffering from depression, I went to the doctor today and she prescribed Fluoxetine, so I have just started taking them today!.
She asked me if I am losing weight, and I said no because I'm not, but the thing is when I'm feeling depressed (which I have been for a while) I don't eat properly because I don't want to and can't seem to make myself do it!.!.!.
For example, today I have eaten: a wheetabix, 2 slices of toast, half a portion of fries and a bowl of Special K!.
I intend to try to eat better because I know it's not enough calories, but I just want to know what the consequences in the long term would be if it takes me a while to get it sorted!?
Thank you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
If you do not eat enough calories for a long period of time your metabolism may slow down (which will make it harder for you to lose weight and easier for you to gain it), your body may go into a state called Ketosis (which is typical of anorexics, because their body doesn't have anything to burn, it starts to "feed" off of itself!. If you do not get the right amount of nutrients that your body needs, it can affect eyesight, muscles, your brain, and how your body functions!. You could lose your period, and if that continues it could lead to reproduction problems!. You can also develop an imbalance in electrolytes, which can lead to very serious problems!. Not eating enough can lead to heart failure, osteoporosis, kidney failure, liver failure, and poor circulation within your body!.You can also become tired, fatigued, have trouble concentrating, sleeping, hair loss, poor calcium in teeth, yellow nails, dizziness, blacking out and your depression medications cannot work unless you have proper nutrition!. All in all, not eating right can screw up a LOT of things in your life, and can lead to way more problems that you may realize!. I hope you get everything straightened out right away, because having poor nutrition is horrible!. I've had an eating disorder for over 3 years, and I have been a hair away from death, and had many other serious complications because of malnutrition!. Good Luck with everythingWww@Answer-Health@Com

you get put in hospital for anorexia!.

you dont produce enough estrogen to have periods and cant absorb calcium so your bones get brittle you can stunt your growth etc etc etc!. you can get scurvy!. if you really dont want to eat drink nutritional supplements like "nourishment" or "build up", i did for four years!.
