My mom wants to lose 20 lbs in 2months(shes 170) Im her 'nutritionist and trainer' advice on eating/training

whats a good meal plan and good exersice for someone who isnt very athletic unlike myself and how do i build patience for what seems to me as her not working hard enough

Go with the Food Pyramid...it's a great reference for how to eat. Get in the habit of eating fruits/veggies at meals BEFORE the carbs. Stick with chicken & fish for meats (cut back on the beef/pork). TONS of water...seriously, this is key...8-10 8 oz glasses per day at a minimum.
I just joined Curves (not sure if you have in your area), I think you could have 2 left feet & do that...it's fairly reasonable (compared to gym memberships) and I enjoy working out with other women who don't look perfect in their spandex! :)
Walking (briskly, could carry hand weights too) would also be a great option for someone who isn't very athletic. Walk with your mom, enjoy the time & then you can set the pace.

As far as your patience goes...take a deep breath, it's your mom & you love her, as long as she's trying keep encouragine. Positive encouragement will take her a lot further than you being unhappy with her not working hard enough. SUPPORT, SUPPORT, SUPPORT...remind her of the benefits she'll see with weight loss (increased energy, less health issues, etc.). They're even linking some CANCER to obesity in latest studies...if that isn't motivation, I don't know what is!!
If you get frusterated, step back, tell her you love her & you want what's best for her and you'd love to go for a walk!
