What are the benefits of taking the stairs?

What muscles are worked? I work on the third floor..how many floors should I go up in order to get a decent workout?


Answers:

Taking the stairs at work every day by itself is not going to give you much of a workout. It is a good supplement to your lifestyle that will help you to burn a few extra calories each and every day. Doing the little things like taking stairs, parking on the far side of the parking lot or walking to places instead of driving add up to a healthier lifestyle. That being said in order to get cardio out of the stairs you need to go for at least 20 minutes straight and get that heart pumping. Good luck!
