Do these leg lifts help?!

Do these leg lifts help?

Where you lay on your back with your hands under your butt, and put your feet together 6 inched off the ground. I do them for 5 minutes every night. I do it for basketball. During the season our coach had us do them, then i just continued and am wondering if it has that much effeft. I cant tell because I do many other exercizes.

Those kind of leg lifts are a good core strengthener. They're good for you back muscles, your abs, and your legs too.
