What is a good toning program for me?!

Question:

What is a good toning program for me?

I want to do cardio almost every day, and toning every other day. My trouble areas are my arms (I think chair dips are good for this - what repetitions should I do?), inner thighs, and tummy. Which exercises are the best to focus on these areas? How many repetitions? How often? I don't want to spend hours toning. Maybe a half hour tops. Any ideas? Also, keep in mind, I am not in the best shape!

Answers:

How much cardio do you do? And on what? The best out there is the elliptical, stair stepper, or the ARC. (which is what I do). You need to do a good 45 min of cardio.
As far as toning....Yes. Dips are great. Get on the adjustable machine...the amount of weight you choose is the amount subtracted from your own weight. And do less weight each time. Any major gym will have it. Now, on each machine..there should be a photo of a person and what muscle groups that machine works. You could start there. Without seeing you, its tough to judge what you should do.
Abs? Crunches..always. And move from there.
Reps? 12 reps of low weights. 3 Times. 10 second rest in between each set.
Inner Thighs/Outer Thighs? Abduction and Adduction machine. I do 150 reps everyday. Of a low weight. 45lbs.
I know you said 30 mins tops...but you might be pushing 45min or more with all that. But hey, its good fop you and it can't hurt! Don't forget to drink tons of water (4 liters a day) and get rest. Don't do cardio everyday. Soon your body will recognize your doing that and it won't respond to it as well. Do cardio maybe 5 times a week. But then again, I am no one to talk. I do cardio everyday. On the ARC..I have a goal of burning 1000 calories in that session. Good luck!
