Lack of Will power???!

Question:

Lack of Will power???

I am a big girl in general. I am looking to lose about 50 to 60 pounds. The problem i am having and have always had is keeping to a schedule. I gave up on diet pills,they would just make me jittery and annoyed. I dont get to much exercise, because usually i start and then something comes up and throws me off track. Do you have any suggestions on keeping myself focused? Lately i have been trying to cut my portions of meals in half, and that helps a little. But i always find myself craving later in the day. I have a wedding coming up in a year and i am desperate to get myself together and stick to it.
Any words of wisdom or help will be greatly appreciated.

Answers:

start by finding your bmr
BMR = 655 + (9.6 x weight in kilos) + (1.8 x height in cm) - (4.7 x age)
multiply by your activity level
Activity Multiplier
Sedentary = 1.2 (little exercise, desk job)
Light Activity = 1.375 (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/wk)
Moderate Activity = 1.55 (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week)
Very Active = 1.725 (heavy exercise/sports 6-7 days/week)
Extreme Activity = 1.9 (heavy exercise/sports, physically demanding job)

that will give you a calorie count of what you need in a day, take 500 off of that and you without working out you should be able to loose that weight with no problem. i have to tell you tho it may only be a few lbs a week but if you keep up with it i guarenty success. if you want to work out youll need to figure how many calories your burning working out and add that into your daily intake. www.fitday.com is great for putting food in, counting calories, and adding your workout into a journal. i know this keeps me focused because i can also see how much of what im eating is fat, carbs, protein. . .
anyway, the diet thing doesnt need a schedule altho 6 meals a day (about every 2 hours) works best to boost your metabolism, its also going to help keep you full! if you do this for a bit and decide you want to excersize just tell yourself youll go. . .3 times a week. then you know that 3 times a week you have to excersize but its not set so you wont need to stress about keeping a schedule. if you do workout i dont recomend doing 5 min at a time because your heartrate will not have time to get up, and your body will not get into cutting mode

aside from all this, cut out soda or go to diet, that will cut so many calories from your diet. also try cooking your own meals, going out will usually give you 3-5 times the calories you would be getting if you cooked it yourself and its more expensive. try these 12 power foods as well
