Question: How can a 13 year old lose weight!?
Hi,
I'm 13 and weigh more than I should!. I know the whole 'eat right and exercise' thing but I've done it for a long time and I can just barely see results!. I walk and jump on the trampoline every day and eat no processed foods and i lost 3 pounds for the entire summer!. I'd like to look good for school and I'd like any ideas to lose weight FAST! I honestly don't care if it's healthy or not I just don't want to start this year like last one; being the fat chick who nobody likes!. I'm sick of being judged, I just want to lose weight!. Any ideas are welcome!.

No matter what anyone ever tells you it will always come down to calories:

Put more energy out of your body than you put in it!.

This way, you can eat what you want as well, as long as you know how many calories it has!. Teenage girls are supposed to have about 2200 calories, so why don't you aim for 1500 or something!? Cardiovascular exercise will make it go even faster!. Aim to lose about 2 pounds a week!.

Drink lots of water, fill you up and it sort of gives you the impression that your flushing junk out of your system!. Also, water sort of loosens up the fat cells and makes them less sticky so they can slide off you more easily, if that makes sense!.

Just be active with everything you do!. If you ahve the choice of elevator or stairs, take stairs!. If you watch tv for an hour a day try and do something at the same time!. step on and off a pile of books, jog on the spot, jumping jacks!.!.!.

Chew gum (sugar free, a dental kind)!. It burns 10 calories an hour (not great, but it adds up), and it puts you off wanting to eat (everything will taste minty right!?)

Be safe - don't make yourself feel unwell!. If you're getting headaches and feeling tired then you're not eating enough!. Take in plenty of vegetables and fruits to keep your vitamins up!. You're body needs to be healthy and work efficiently to lose weight!.

Trampolining and walking are good, but there are much more effective ways to lose weight!. Try going for a jog, a swim or bikeride!. Most of your body's muscles are in your legs, so doing things with them burns the most calories!. Try to do 20-30 mins of one of those every ohter day!. In the day between that, do some sort of muscle, toning exercises!. Sit ups, that sort of thing!. So when the weight does come off you have a toned body underneath!.

Eat dinner early!. Otherwise you dont ahve a chance to burn it off!.


I you didnt wanna hear the diet and exercise thing but it really will work because it has to!. It's like a law of physics your body cannot do more work than the energy it has to do it!. If your food is 1500 calories and your body has to do 3000 calories worth of exercise, it will break down the fat!. (Make sure you do do those muscle exercises too, otherwise your body might break down muscle)!.

Dont starve yourself you'll slow your metabolism, and so slow your weight loss too!.

Well done for your progress over the summer just keep it up!.

Not sure but i had like 160 pounds when i was 13 and i was kinda fat and for 1 years i started jogging and intensive exercises and i lost a lot of weight i mean now that i am 16 I'm at 180(I'm 6'5" feet) pounds i guess u should try running every morning for like 30 min and run like 1 mile or u can try aerobics at the gym,ah and don't eat a lot of bread or anything that has flour in it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

that good excercise, but doing the same thing everyday isn't going to help you lose wight!.
-try mixing it up, maybe job 20 minutes 3-4 times a week!.
-do some crunches everyday before you go to bed!.
-physical body streingth is very important!. because sometimes when you think that your fat, it might just be muscle!.
-try not to go out to eat, but if you must, try to eat something a little bit healthier!. like whole wheat breads, and things like that!.

To lose weight you have to consume or burn 3,500 calories for each pound!.

3 pounds in 3 months is very good since you are still growing at 13, you may need to just shift the weight so go to a library and find body parts specific exercises!. You may be getting taller and converting fat to muscles mass, as you know that for volume per volume muscles weigh lot more then the fat issue!. So your weight loss is very good, and reasonable!.

Avoid jumping it is high impact and you are putting bones and joints at risk!. By some strapped on weights and a pedometer and use them all day, make sure you register minimum 10,000 steps every day!.

But try this!.

It is doable so just do it!. You must do it and you can!.

First of all you need to evaluate the situation!.

You must count calories and at least in initial stages write down what you are going to eat and when then stay on that list!. Your total calories for the week must not exceed, 1500 x 7 = 10,500 calories this will give you leave way to indulge at special occasions like wedding and parties, but you must write down what you eat and account for the calories latter and adjust the total intake next week!.

In rare cases, you can increase the height up to age 30!.

Cycling is good exercise and fun too!.

You need to adjust the seat so that when you paddle from seating position you will actually stretch your legs, it is a difficult position but doable!. For safety you need to be on track and not in traffic, safety first!.

The FEW things I did at least helped me!.

Swimming!.

Not just playing in water, but serious laps type swimming, do not try to beat the clock but steady full strokes swimming!. Remember slow and steady wins the race!.

Stretching exercises on floor!.

I've lost nearly a stone in 2weeks before, cutting down to one small meal a day(well i ate 8meals outta the 14) and going for long walks spread out through the day(3+hours), snacked on fruit and veg when hunger pain was tough but you get used to after a while, things like this will get fast results but to not suddenly go back/worst then before start excercising more and slowly increase food intake, alot of people wont stay on diets and work outs cause their not seeing results, by going to the extreme and seeing the loss it will help you settle in but dont stay there you'll be worse off!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i've been on a diet all summer and i've lost 10 pounds!. from eating healthy, whole foods (fruit, vegetables, grains, proteins, fiber, etc!.) plus, i workout alot!. i go to the gym 6 times a week, burning between 600-1000 calories while i'm there!.
